My Name is Duncan Alderson and have been working in computers since 2000. My main focus is security research and penetration testing. I work for a small firm in London as a Security Consultant and design and install implementations of PGP encryption mail systems, Air Defense Wireless IDS/IPS systems, Blue Coat Secure Proxy Gateways and finally last but not least Iron Port C (mail scanning) and S (Proxy) series.

I also have knowledge of Tripwire, Check Point, Sourcefire Intrusion Prevention Systems, Blue Coat Mach5 WAN Acceleration and Postini, Message Labs and Black Spider mail “Security as a Service”(SaaS).

I also research security vulnrabilities in web programming and wireless systems. A large portion of my spare time is taken up with researching security holes in my vendors mentioned above and I work very closly with a number of them. I believe in understanding the whole computer system to be able to test or protect it. This is Why I started at Desktop and Server support then moved to Networking and now Security. With out this experience I don’t feel any body could be able to protect highly sensitive networks.

I work with a large number of law firms most of them rated in the top 50 law firms in “The Lawyer” and major FTSE 100/250 and Blue Chip companies  installing, maintaining and supporting their security infrastructure. I also write monthly tech tips on a number of products for my employer.
